Gabriel is a family Christmas musical that looks at the Nativity Story from the perspective of the angel Gabriel. In this version Gabriel doesn’t know what is going to happen beyond the fact that God’s Son is coming to earth. He has his own expectations of what should unfold (i.e. that God’s Son should have access to every possible luxury and privilege), and as he delivers message to the protagonists in the story his own view of heaven’s plan begins to change.
Containing a range of musical genres from beautiful ballads like Mary’s Why Choose Me?, to the innkeepers Hoe Down Make Hay, and culminating in the highly moving and powerful ensemble song One Day, this show is chock full of big tunes, strong characterisation and funny and moving scenes.
